Afytos is a unique village with beautiful landscape in Chalkidiki (Halkidiki), with a variety of flowers and is offered for peaceful and romantic vacations. History

Ancient Afytos was one of the most important cities of Pallini and is being referred to, by many ancient writers like Herodotes, Thoukididis, Aristoteles, Pausanias, etc St Dionysus' sanctuary of the 8th Century BC and the Temple of Amonos Dias Howe contributed in its reputation. Since 3.000 BC there is a constant moving of people in the area while since ancient times Afytos had its own coin, golden as well as silver. The golden coin had Amonos Dias from one side and frow the other a Taurus or an eagle. In the cultural museum of Afytos the visitor can see the way of life and the character of that period.
